Machine appliqued and machine quilted. Cotton fabric, cotton and silk threads and wool batting.

Sue and Pat collaborated on this unique appliqué quilt a little differently than their previous collaborative quilts. Pat designed and made the top. Sue designed the quilting patterns and did all the machine quilting. Pat designed and did the creative tab edging. Pat used the stitched raw edge machine applique technique featured in the sisters book “Stitched Raw Edge Applique” from AQS. Sue designed the quilting patterns inspired by an antique coverlet in a piece from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Using thinner thread, silk and cotton, Sue created this intricate and unique border quilting. Pat designed the very creative edge treatment, inspired from folky penny rugs.

Because the quilt was inspired by trips to England and Wales, it was named after a favorite place- Tenby, Wales and memories of tea with good friends met while teaching there.
